“Outdoor Rocks”

In collaboration with Young Europe Society Association we implemented between 16 and 27 July 2021 in Bălan-Harghita the Outdoor Rocks project, a Youth Exchange co-financed by the Erasmus + program of the European Commission.
The project brought together 65 young people accompanied by group leaders from Romania, Bulgaria, Portugal and Lithuania. The theme of the 10 days of activity was hiking and rock climbing. Guided by group leaders and experts in the field, the participants learned how to organize a mountain hike, what are the protection measures to be taken in such an activity, and had the opportunity to practice rock climbing, regardless of the level of previous experience.
The place of activities was Lonely Rock, representative for Bălan and for the rock climbing trails arranged for all levels of training.
In addition to the thematic activities, young people took part in many team-building activities, discovered the opportunities offered by the European Commission’s youth programs and developed their civic sense, along with other intercultural skills.
