Summary
Swipe Forward is a Youth Exchange designed for young people who are ready to move beyond passive scrolling and start actively shaping the digital world around them. In a time where we are constantly exposed to online content, this activity focuses on helping participants become confident digital content creators while developing a conscious and critical understanding of how digital platforms and AI tools influence what we see, create, and share.
Through hands-on workshops, teamwork, and non-formal learning activities, participants will explore photography, video production, graphic design, and digital storytelling using accessible tools such as smartphones and laptops. At the same time, they will reflect on how artificial intelligence and digital environments affect creativity, information, and communication.
By the end of the exchange, participants will not only have produced meaningful digital content but will also leave with stronger digital awareness, practical media skills, and the confidence to use technology as a tool for expression, communication, and social impact.
Location and Venue
We will be accommodated at Peniche Surf Camp, just a few meters from the beach. This inspiring venue offers the perfect blend of comfort and connection, allowing us to engage with the local community and immerse ourselves in the vibrant culture of Peniche. The camp includes shared rooms for 4-5 people, organized by gender, as well as common areas such as a kitchen, a group activity room, and balconies for relaxation and socializing. Participants can also schedule surf lessons during their free time (at their own cost) for an extra dose of adventure.
Please note that, due to the accommodation rules, music is not allowed after 23:00. Participants who wish to continue socializing with music in the evening are welcome to visit nearby cafés and bars in the area.
Meals will be prepared by a dedicated kitchen team during the exchange. However, participants are responsible for washing their own dishes after meals and for keeping the common areas of the accommodation clean and organized at all times. Respect for the space and for others is an important part of the shared living experience during the project.
Each participant will be served three meals a day: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Participants’ dietary preferences should be provided during the application process to ensure meals are prepared accordingly.
Participant Profile
Selection Criteria
This activity will bring together around 40 participants from across the program countries. We aim for a balanced group across countries, genders, and experience levels. We value diversity of experience and background – past experience in the field is not required (Erasmus is all about learning, after all!), however, we welcome participants with more expertise who can support their less experienced peers during their learning journey.
We’re especially looking for participants who show a willingness to contribute actively: That means more than attending every session. It’s about bringing good energy, supporting your peers, taking initiative, and even sharing your own skills or ideas with the group. Whether you feel comfortable leading a session or helping someone set up a projector, your involvement will make a difference!
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so apply early, as spots are limited!
